However, the FF stands out because it is a grand tourer that seats four, but still offers impressive sports car performance.The Ferrari FF is different than competitors like the Aston Martin DB9, which is also a grand tourer, because it seats four comfortably. Not all reviewers say passengers six-feet or taller will be comfortable, but the FF does have the most comfortable back seats in the class. The FF also has four-wheel drive, making it the first Ferrari that doesn’t operate solely on its rear wheels. This powertrain may make some shoppers nervous, but test drivers say it’s hard to tell when the four-wheel drive system is in use. The FF is a great handler, and the four-wheel drive only kicks in when it’s needed. In normal driving conditions, the FF simply relies on the rear wheels.

The 2012 FF gets fantastic reviews for its 12-cylinder engine, four-wheel drive and comfortable rear seats, but one thing reviewers aren’t impressed with is its exterior styling. "It's not exactly beautiful, but this Pininfarina-penned coupe is charming with an undeniable Ferrari presence,” writes AutoWeek. “The look starts with a toothy jack-o'-lantern front end and flows into a shooting-brake backside, creating a silhouette that will remind just about everyone of the first BMW Z-coupe. The FF looks a bit ungainly, or perhaps oddly proportioned as Ferraris go, but it's less so than the four-dour Porsche Panamera." The negative comments don’t end there. The FF is also called a “toilet brush on wheels,” and some writers say it lacks the sexiness that Ferraris are known for. But, the FF’s love-it-or-hate-it exterior styling is what makes it so comfortable on the inside. If you’re looking for an exotic sports car that can seat four comfortably, the FF is your only option. Shoppers who like the FF’s mixture of exotic sports car and practicality will have to wait. Ferrari didn’t make many, and according to Edmunds, they’re already sold out for the first two years. If the prospect of waiting a few years to get this model doesn’t deter you, perhaps the FF’s price will. It starts at about $300,000.

The first is the R8’s limited cargo space. At just 3.5 cubic feet, the R8’s trunk is tiny, even by exotic sports car standards. Don’t expect to pack the R8 for a weekend trip. Second, many test drivers dislike Audi’s Multi Media Interface. The same qualities that you appreciate at home are just as important in the car. However, the enhanced dynamic range is actually a problem. In the quiet of your home, the soft passages are clearly heard without any analog tape noise. In your car, these same soft passages can get lost amongst engine and road noise. Perhaps this is why cassettes are still around. However, look forward to the day that strands of cassette tape won't litter the roadsides.When CD changers were first introduced, they were almost exclusively magazine cartridge monsters that would only fit into the trunk of your car. Why are these considered so inconvenient? Well, imagine yourself on a long road trip with the trunk of your car packed to the brim, in the dark on the side of the road, oh, let's add some rain too, trying to swap out a CD for the one you are just dying to hear. Not a pretty sight, but this style still remains popular, and the range of options has dramatically increased.Today, there are a number of choices for CD changers. Trunk mounts are still popular, but they've added convenience features, like remote controls if your head unit doesn't have changer controls. Some even use FM modulators to broadcast the signal to your FM tuner.Other styles of CD changers can be mounted in a glove compartment or under the front seats. This makes it easy to swap out discs without having to stop the car. For this, you'll need a player that is specifically capable of MP3 playback.The amplifier power can affect your overall enjoyment, and add-on units have more power than most factory-installed systems, but the amount varies. If you're not going to add any additional amplification, make sure you have enough to power your speakers. If you might add an amplifier in the future, look for a CD head unit with preamp outputs. Other features to consider are onboard equalization, which can include presets designed to enhance specific styles of music or basic bass/treble controls, as well as the ability to control other equipment, such as a CD changer or a satellite radio receiver, and tuner functions.
